Cleaning and Sealing for New and Used Leather
New leather does not require intensive care as it is already protected by the tanning process. However, it should be sealed to prevent abrasion and color transfer. Used leather, on the other hand, often becomes brittle and cracked and needs thorough cleaning, moisture, and protection to restore suppleness.
Care for New Smooth Leather
Cleaning:
- Leather Cleaner or, for stronger stains, Leather Cleaner Forte.
- Apply the cleaner with the Cleaning Brush or a cleaning sponge in circular motions.
- Remove foam and dirt with a detail towel or the Micro-Wash Yellow.
Sealing:
Apply Leather Glaze with a fine sponge in circular motions from seam to seam. The colorless sealant protects against color transfer, dries in minutes, and leaves no shine.
Care for Used Smooth Leather
Cleaning:
- Clean the leather with Leather Cleaner or Leather Cleaner Forte and the Cleaning Brush.
- For perforated leather (e.g., ventilated seats), use a cleaning sponge.

Care:
After drying, apply Leather Milk with a fabric applicator in a thin layer. This care emulsion is especially suitable for leather that is at least 5 years old and has a dried-out surface. Leather Milk contains nutrients, UV filters, and antioxidants that make the leather supple and resistant.
